TM LAUNCHES BLUEHYPPO HYPPTRIPS TRAVEL PORTAL AT URBANLIVE
QUEENSBAY MALL, PENANG Telekom
Malaysia Berhad (TM) launched its travel portal
HyppTrips during the third leg of NTV7’s ‘UrbanLive’
roadshow at Queensbay Mall, Penang today.
HyppTrips,
the latest channel on travel on TM’s lifestyle
portal BlueHyppo.com was the highlight of the event.
It was introduced in support of Visit Malaysia Year
2007 and Malaysia’s 50th Merdeka celebrations.
Penangites were given a glimpse of the comprehensive
travel information site, which features exciting
holiday destinations, photos, videos, reviews, online
booking, news, tips and special offers on exciting
holidays in locations in Malaysia.
The
uniqueness of the site lies in its concept where
its writers offer users first-hand experiences of
what to expect at their favourite holiday destinations.
Keeping in line with BlueHyppo being an interactive
site, HyppTrips encourages its members to share
their own holiday experiences with fellow travellers
in its Forum by posting feedback, tips, pictures
and videos of their holiday trips.
“We wanted to create a platform where users
are able to interact and share information and ideas
on how to make best use of their time at various
holiday destinations. The creation of HyppTrips
is also part of TM’s ongoing effort in enhancing
the BlueHyppo.com portal, in order for it to remain
the most compelling local web resource for everyone,
be they Malaysians or non-Malaysians,” said
Zainab Hashim, Vice-President, Integrated Marketing,
Malaysia Business, Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
“BlueHyppo is also the default portal for
TM’s over 3.2 million Internet access services
customers. In addition to that, BlueHyppo has over
one million registered members, which keeps increasing
by the day; so there are about 3 million people
we can reach. Since its inception in 2001, BlueHyppo.com
has been receiving positive response from the public.
The site has an average of 30 million hits each
month and 3 million page views per month. All in
all, we have had more than 2 billion hits since
2001; thus reaching the status as Malaysia’s
premier lifestyle portal,” Zainab elaborated.
One of the interesting features of HyppTrips is
its monthly contest, where users stand a chance
to win fabulous getaway vacations. Users can also
print pictures by using PhotoZone – the online
digital photo printing zone with 4R prints costing
only 38 sen.
